A third-inning souvenir at Citizens Bank Park
During Thursday’s Brewers-Phillies game in Philadelphia, one father in the upper deck turned a routine foul ball into the kind of ballpark story that will get better every time it is told. Milwaukee first baseman Jake Bauers sent a foul into the seats in the top of the third, and the fan reached out to secure it with his bare hand.
He did not need to rise from his seat, either. The catch came with a calm bit of reach and timing, even as he held his sleeping baby.
The baby never missed a nap
