Boston set its 26-man roster Tuesday for the American League Wild Card Series against the New York Yankees, bringing left-hander Garrett Crochet back from the 60-day injured list in time for Game 1.
The series opens Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET, with NBC and Peacock carrying the game. Boston made room by moving right-hander Justin Slaten to the 60-day injured list.

The pitching staff has plenty of different looks for a short series. Brayan Bello, Jake Bennett, Aroldis Chapman, Crochet, Alec Gamboa, Sonny Gray, Erik Miller, Wyatt Olds, Ranger Suarez, Payton Tolle, Greg Weissert and Garrett Whitlock make up the group.
Behind the plate, Adley Rutschman and Connor Wong are on the roster. The infield contingent is Willson Contreras, Caleb Durbin, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Andruw Monasterio and Trevor Story.
Boston’s outfield group includes Wilyer Abreu, Roman Anthony, Jarren Duran, Jahmai Jones and Ceddanne Rafaela. Nate Eaton and Nick Sogard give the club two additional players listed for both the infield and outfield.
Crochet’s return gives Boston another left-handed arm as the postseason begins, while Slaten’s move formally clears the roster spot. Now the Red Sox have their October room set for a Yankees matchup that starts under the lights Tuesday.
