In Mexico City, América’s title defence has found its most reliable compass in Geyse. The Brazilian forward has scored in every one of the first 11 Apertura matches, taking her total to 17 and setting a new competition mark for consecutive scoring appearances.
The news from the club
Geyse reached the record in América’s 2-1 win over Pachuca on Sunday, when she supplied the goal that secured the points for Las Águilas. Her run moves beyond the previous standard set by Pachuca striker Charlyn Corral, who found the net in 10 successive Clausura 2024 fixtures.
The Brazil international’s 17-goal return includes four against Necaxa and two-goal displays versus Cruz Azul, Pumas and León. She has added one goal in each of her other seven league outings.
Her form has been central to América’s position as contenders to retain the championship. After 11 rounds, the club lead Group 2 with 28 points.
