The Padres will take the field in an elimination game Tuesday night without closer Mason Miller, who has been placed on the Postseason Paternity List.
| NLDS Game 3 | Time | Television |

Left-hander Wandy Peralta will take Miller’s spot on San Diego’s active roster for the National League Division Series while Miller is away. The move is temporary: Miller must miss at least one day and can remain off the roster for no more than three days. Peralta will be removed when Miller is cleared to return.
It comes at a difficult moment for the Padres. San Diego trails Milwaukee heading into Game 3 and needs a win Tuesday to keep its postseason alive.
Miller, the Padres’ All-Star ninth-inning arm, was called upon for a six-out assignment in Game 2. He reached the ninth with two outs and two strikes on Jackson Chourio, but Chourio delivered the walk-off single that ended the game.
Now the bullpen will have to navigate an elimination night without its usual closer, with Peralta added to the group for as long as Miller is away from the club.
