Serie A moves straight into its midweek round after Milan’s win over Udinese brought the eighth matchday to a close, and discipline will already be part of the next chapter.
Three players one booking from suspension
The sporting judge has confirmed the updated list of players at risk of a one-match ban. A further yellow card in the ninth round would trigger suspension for the following league fixture.
- Genoa defender Leo Østigård remains on the warning list after the eighth round.
- Frosinone’s Riccardo Bracaglia has joined him ahead of matchday nine.
- Cagliari midfielder Alessandro Deiola is also now one caution away from a ban.
With the calendar immediately returning to action in midweek, Genoa, Frosinone and Cagliari will need to manage those players carefully. In a league season shaped as much by squad availability as single Sunday results, the next yellow card for any of the three would carry an immediate cost.
