Case Keenum stepped in for injured quarterback Caleb Williams and powered the Chicago Bears to a Monday night upset of the visiting Philadelphia Eagles, throwing two touchdown passes and adding his first rushing score in seven years.
What changed for the franchise
Keenum had not appeared in a game since the 2023 season and had not started since Christmas Eve 2023, when he was with the Houston Texans. The veteran delivered in Williams’ absence, directing a balanced Chicago offense against Philadelphia.
His biggest completion was a 41-yard touchdown strike to Kalif Raymond. Keenum also found the end zone on the ground, marking his first rushing touchdown since 2019.
Chicago’s defense created three Philadelphia turnovers and repeatedly disrupted Jalen Hurts. Hurts’ only touchdown came on a quarterback sneak as the Eagles struggled to generate consistent offense.
The result gave the Bears an unexpected home victory over the Eagles while raising immediate questions about how long Williams could remain sidelined and whether Keenum will be needed again under center.
