Giants Lead MLB in Injured List Days, Ending Dodgers’ Three-Year Streak

San Francisco spent more time managing the injured list than any other club in the majors this season, finishing with 2,379 total IL days and 44 placements.

The Giants led Major League Baseball in both measures, taking over a category the Dodgers had topped for the previous three seasons.

Los Angeles had led the majors in injured-list days for three straight years before San Francisco’s total moved to the front of the board. The Giants’ 44 IL assignments also marked the highest number in the league.

It was a long season of roster movement for San Francisco, with 2,379 accumulated days lost to injured-list stays shaping the club’s daily choices.
