Indianapolis Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner did not mince words after his London outing, calling his own performance “embarrassing” and promising the team will see a different response going forward.
Gardner said he fell short of the standard expected of him and of the Colts’ defense. The cornerback did not detail specific plays, but his message was clear: he believes he let the team down and intends to correct it.
“Embarrassing” was Gardner’s assessment of the effort, with the defensive back pledging that such a performance will not happen again. Indianapolis will look for that response from one of its top perimeter defenders as it moves on from the international game.
